All the artwork, portraits, and chibis of Nobara are by yumehwoa, who perfectly captured her personality and brought her to life. I'm endlessly grateful for their amazing talent and the love they put into these pieces!  design inspiration.   : an shiraishi of project sekai
Nobara’s hairstyles were hugely inspired by An Shiraishi from Project SEKAI. While Nobara has definitely grown into her own unique style, An was the ultimate early blueprint for her look.  name inspiration.   : Kugisaki Nobara and Mafuyu Asahina
Her name combines Kugisaki Nobara (whose first name translates to "wild rose") with Mafuyu Asahina’s surname. Mafuyu's struggles with identity also heavily inspired Nobara's lore, making this a fitting nod to both characters.  love interest.   : leo kliesen
Leo is Nobara's childhood anchor and safe haven, serving as the emotional backbone of her story. Their deep, patient bond pulls Nobara away from her dark origins and gives her a chance at a normal future.

Background & Biography

Born as the cursed, unnatural reincarnation of the ancient Japanese succubus Hirara Aiura—a primordial spirit bound by tragedy and a thirst for retribution against the deceitful—and the fiercely ambitious yet emotionally detached Mishima Zaibatsu scientist Sakura Asahina, Nobara's very existence was predetermined by a bitter supernatural pact and immediately weaponized through the cold, subterranean corridors of PROJECT ROSE.Imprisoned in windowless laboratories from the age of three, she was subjected to relentless academic conditioning and emotional starvation where tears were treated as failure and comfort was entirely nonexistent, until the quiet, persistent kindness of Leo Kliesen—brought into the facility by his mother, the whistleblower Dr. Emma Kliesen—shattered her isolation and offered her a fragile, long-denied glimpse of genuine friendship and warmth. That delicate sanctuary violently exploded on her fifth birthday when a cornered Emma was threatened by an unstable Sakura, driving a terrified, overwhelmed Nobara to subconsciously awaken Hirara's dormant spirit for the first time; unleashing catastrophic telekinetic forces that instantly struck down her mother to protect the innocent, even as corrupt researchers scrambled to frame young Leo for the fatal blow.In the aftermath of the harrowing Kliesen case—where legal intervention by Haruka Asahina dismantled the Zaibatsu's cover-up, cleared Leo's name, and exposed the illegal experiments—Nobara was subjected to a clandestine, global rotating custody among her estranged Asahina aunts to evade the lingering clutches of the corporation, spending her early years growing up under Nanaka's care in South Korea, moving on to France with Fumika, and finally crossing the Atlantic to spend her early adolescence thriving under Ichika's watch in the United States.Excelling brilliantly within the American education system and distinguishing herself as the absolute top student of her high school, Nobara eventually caught the calculating eye of Mishima Polytechnic, which scouted her to step into the prestigious role of student council president—a fateful appointment that has drawn her right back to the heart of Japan, forcing a deeply guarded, emotionally suppressed young woman to balance the high-stakes pressures of leadership and student politics while constantly keeping the ancient, terrifyingly protective spirit of Hirara sleeping silently beneath her skin.
